Now that it’s officially March, it feels like a good time to upload a couple of illustrations from February.
It’s been a really busy 4+ weeks, and I’m still working on a couple of new commercial pieces, but I promise to update TSMOM at least one more time before I leave for Japan later this month (any recommendations of things to check out in Tokyo and it’s neighbouring areas would be really appreciated. I’ll send you a postcard in return :)
The first image is an illustration that I created for Matrix Magazine in Montreal. It accompanies an article about the impact of hockey in culture. It should be on sale sometime in April.
The second image is a logo that was created for Box Social Entertainment in Toronto. Digital post production is a lot less stressful than hand-drawn from start to finish. It’s a nice change of pace, once in a while. Photo-referencing images of booze might have, in part, helped with the stress as well.
Oh, I also have a drawing in Toronto’s Timeraiser this year. The Timeraiser is a great event where buyers of artwork pledge volunteer hours of all sorts in exchange for the artwork that they bid on. A lot of this year’s contributors are not only great artists, but great people too. It’s the ideal opportunity to see us in our natural habitat.
If you’re in Toronto, the event happens March 19th at 7:00 in The Distillery. In fact, their website can probably provide more information that I can off the top of my head:
I promised myself I’d finish watching The Pink Panther Strikes Again and be asleep by 2:00
